When I Am Unable To Sleep

I don't know if this will work for everyone, but it's helping me so I'm passing it along.

I have Scoliosis in my lower back and it often makes finding a comfortable position for sleep almost impossible and some night's it's more difficult than others. But, I recently found that if I listened to a novel (with the lights out)  before falling asleep, it seemed to relax all the muscles in my back. I don't know how it works, but it seems to be doing the job. And then, the minute I feel myself begin to drift, I shut off the player and seconds later I'm sound asleep.

If you are going to give this a try, you might want to consider what kind of story would relax you. The last thing you want is for your brain to be racing with the storyline. Give it a try and see if it works. It sure feels nice to be able to fall asleep like everyone else!!

A Nice Way to End the Day

School children singing, Pie Town, New Mexico ...

Do you regret even a minute of time that you spent with your kids today? I can almost bet that the answer will be no. If you are even thinking about this one, just remember that they grow up so quickly. My first born is now a grown man with a wife of 6 months. I can still remember when he was a toddler, driving me crazy. I would go back in a second if I could.

Tears of the Moon [With Earbuds] (Playaway Adult Fiction) (9781607758808): Nora Roberts, Patricia Daniels:…

I love just about anything that Nora Roberts writes... and this trilogy is right up there and believe it or not, this is how I end my night! I place the "playaway" on my pillow, plug in the earbuds and listen for a half hour. That is pretty much it. I have no trouble falling asleep then. Now, if I can just figure out how to pull the story into my dreams!! I'm working on it. lol!! Tears of the Moon [With Earbuds]

A French Love Quote

Absence diminishes small loves and increases great ones, as the wind blows out the candle and blows up the bonfire.

Anne Rice's Thoughts About Vampires

Blackwood Farm (The Vampire Chronicles)The vampires have always been metaphors for me. They've always been vehicles through which I can express things I have felt very, very deeply.

Anne Rice

It's been years since I read anything by this author. Time to curl up and read a few chapters just before bed ;)
