As much as I love the quiet of the night, I hate it when I can't fall asleep. But after a lot of sleepless nights, I did come across a trick that actually works. Get into a comfortable position and close your eyes. Now start counting backwards from 100. Trust me, by the time you get to one, you are so exhausted from thinking... you drift off to sleep instantly. And chances are, you won't even get that far.
