Getting Our the Blankets Again

Chris ReadsImage by Vicious Bits via Flickr

Enjoyed one blissful week of warm "summer nights" but suddenly, winter seems to have returned. Okay perhaps I'm exagerating a little, but I did use a comforter again last night. Here's hoping that it won't be for long. I had even fallen in love with sleeping with the windows open!!

Generationdb com says that family tree maker can help to make the complex task of making a family tree much easier

An example of a family tree.Image via Wikipedia

I kind of like this idea and I'm getting a little bit excited to give it another try. I was also thinking that this would be great for a history teacher to use to teach about a certain time in history. The kids would certainly retain the information if it related to their own family don't you think??

And what better way to spend those wee hours of the morning when you can't sleep anyway!! Time to start a little digging!

Sad but true

I used to be able to stay awake into the wee hours of the night, but sadly as I have gotten older, I look forward to my own bed a lot more than I used to. Sad, but true..

About Love

Love, that never fadesImage by Ange Soleil ( a.k.a Tweng ) via Flickr

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Corinthians 13: 4-7

Ending the Day

Silhouette of Woman in Beach Chair on the Beach

May the love hidden deep inside your heart find the love waiting in your dreams. May the laughter that you find in your tomorrow wipe away the pain you find in your yesterdays.

Calming Moon from Mighty Leaf Tea

Even the name seems to make me relax. I think that's why I like so much about the night... it's quiet and peaceful.

"This full-bodied infusion offers a redolent blending of licorice, fennel, mints and citrus. Rich with vitamins C and B as well as zinc, it counteracts stress, soothes the digestion and bathes the inner body in a calming elixir."

How Beautiful is the Night

Cathedral of St. Elizabeth, Kosice, East Slovakia

"How beautiful is night!
A dewy freshness fills the silent air;
No mist obscures, nor cloud, nor speck, nor stain,
Breaks the serene of heaven. "

Can't Sleep?

As much as I love the quiet of the night, I hate it when I can't fall asleep. But after a lot of sleepless nights, I did come across a trick that actually works. Get into a comfortable position and close your eyes. Now start counting backwards from 100. Trust me, by the time you get to one, you are so exhausted from thinking... you drift off to sleep instantly. And chances are, you won't even get that far.

Here's to an amazing night of restful sleep... just like when you were a kid.

Tinker Bell Sugar Tink Comforter - Twin Size

Perfect for the little girl who can't get to sleep! Let Tinkerbell help. And yes, there are lots of children that have as much trouble falling asleep as we do.

Extra-Easy Pizza Recipe from Betty Crocker

Is there anything better for a late night snack than a gooey slice of pizza. No, I didn't think so either. And with Bisquick in the cupboard, it takes mere minutes to whip up the crust. Yes, this is a Betty Crocker recipe and I have yet to try one of her recipes that I didn't like. You might want to invest in a box or two of Bisquick. The stuff is amazing.

RARE KNIOLAS BLACK NIGHT MORNING GLORY

Okay, I know that these ARE Morning Glories, but the color reminded me of the Witching Hour. Too bad that we couldn't get them to bloom in the moonlight!

Details...
"Morning Glory, black-purple flowers with a cerise throat in abundance on this climber to 4 feet, flowers from July to October. Easy to germinate and grow, very heat tolerant prefers full sun. If transplanting, start indoors 5-6 weeks before transplant and harden-off before final placement. Direct sow after danger of frost."

When Bedtime Arrives

"It is one of life's bitterest truths that bedtime so often arrives just when things are really getting interesting."

*Lemony Snicket

It didn't use to be the case. In university, I never went to bed before about two in the morning. Sadly as I get older, I can't keep my eyes open that long. Can't sleep in until noon either!! Ah to be 21 again. On second thought, maybe not. I like my bed. ;)
